Who runs Woodglen?

Our staff members are recovering alcoholics and addicts, so they understand and empathize and are able to guide clients through their recovery with the belief that “because we have recovered, you can too.”

More importantly, life experiences and the varying lengths of their personal recovery history, through Woodglen and Alcoholics Anonymous, demonstrates to our clients that anyone afflicted with addiction can recover. Our Clinical Staff includes a licensed therapist, master’s degree level counselors. All of these individuals have had many years of experience in chemical dependency programs. Medical backup is availible if neccesary.

Along with our professional staff, Woodglen enjoys the continued participation of a large group of alumni and others from the local recovery community who volunteer their time and other resources to assist current residents on their journey to recovery. Woodglen alumni are always ready and willing to testify to the enriching and joyful nature of their role at Woodglen.

We also proudly participate in local academic and hospital internship programs. Many people who go on to work in other recovery centers and hospitals began their hands-on apprenticeships at Woodglen.

All of our help, professional and volunteers, undergo a rigorous background check by the Orange County Probation Department.

Our Woodglen alumni, continue on in service work in their local recovery community and they are highly respected within that community.

Our Recovery Advisors are life-experienced individuals who have devoted their lives to helping those who wish to recover from the devastating effects of substance abuse. We are receptive to new concepts in treating alcohol and drug addiction, and our staff are well-trained with this concept in mind.
